How it Works

No two church plants are the same and the assistance in each case will differ as well. Here are some modifications on the model:
1. The established pastor pastors the new work for an extended period of time. If the new church is chartered, constituted or publically formed right away, he may pastor two churches at one time, waiting for the right man to take the new work.
2. The established pastor and church lay the ground work for the new church by securing property, distributing literature, or doing the work of the sowing stage (see Chapter 13 of Multiplying Model).
3. An established pastor and his church may simply assist a church planter sent by another church. They may come to sit as a church, provide support, provide housing, provide groceries, provide a place to meet, or any combination. In this case, an established pastor and his church may simply help provide a launching place.
4. Some church plants start off a little more advanced and there may be a number of families ready. However, even in this case, that church planter is sent out by an established church.

Obviously, while the established pastor is conducting the services of the new work, he is in his office as pastor, doing the work of an evangelist. Below is a slide presentation with a quick summation:
